Contexory and GitHub

Skills, synced to your own repo as plain files.

Connect the Contexory GitHub App and pick a repo. Contexory pushes and pulls skill folders, and shows drift when the repo and Contexory disagree.

What it reads

  • Skill folders: SKILL.md with its scripts and reference files, as text
  • Changes you push to the repo, through webhooks verified with an HMAC signature
  • Instruction files and skills already in a repo, read-only, when you import an agent from it

Where the files land

skills/<name>/SKILL.md

skills/<name>/references/

skills/<name>/scripts/

There is no install command. Connect the GitHub App from your workspace in the Contexory web app, then choose the repo and branch.

Where things land

Files
The repo and branch you connect, under skills/ by default, one folder per skill. You can change the path. In pull-request mode a push goes to a branch named studio/ followed by the skill id and opens a pull request instead of committing directly; direct mode is the default.
Access
A GitHub App you install on the repos you pick.
README.md
When attribution is on, each synced skill folder also gets a README.md with a Contexory byline. A README you wrote is never replaced.

Not delivered here

  • Instruction files. Contexory reads AGENTS.md when you import an agent, and never writes it to your repo.
  • Uploaded binary files inside a skill. They are skipped on push.
  • Tool descriptions, releases and labels. They stay in Contexory.
